EthanBrother laser printers use a separate toner and drum unit. The brother drum is like a tray that the toner slides into. The drum unit must be replaced every 6 – 7 toners. A warning light will appear on your printer when your drum unit needs to be replaced. Compatible drum units are a cheaper alternative to using the original drum units and will save you a significant amount of money.
